U.S. defends transit rules for Taiwan's president

The China Post - The U.S. government has arranged for President Chen Shui-bian's latest transit stops in the United States according to its longstanding policy and practice, a U.S. State Department official said Wednesday. Washington has refused to allow Chen to stop over in major U.S. cities other than Anchorage, Alaska for his latest visit to Central America. Washington also reportedly refused to allow Chen to stay overnight during the transit stops. Full Story
